For nearly 15 years, ABB's IRB 360 FlexPicker has been a forefront leader in high-speed robotic pick & place technology. Compared to conventional fixed automation, the IRB 360 offers greater flexibility in a compact format while maintaining accuracy and high load capacity.
With the introduction of the IRB 360-6, the latest robot in the IRB 360 group, ABB provides a FlexPicker with a reach of 1600 mm and an average payload of 6 kg. Sacrificing a small amount of payload versus the 8kg FlexPicker results in greater reach for applications where conveyors must be far apart, or where other environmental factors dictate long distances between pick & place moves.
The IRB 360 family now includes variants with payloads of 1kg, 3kg, 6kg and 8kg, and reaches up to 800mm, 1130mm and 1600mm, meaning there is an IRB 360 for almost every need. Combining unbeatable motion control, short cycle times and pinpoint accuracy, an IRB 360 can operate at very fast speeds in very narrow to very wide spaces and to very tight tolerances. Each FlexPicker further benefits from a redesigned flange that can accommodate larger grippers, allowing efficient high-speed flow of packaged products from an indexing belt.
