Dulce de Leche Processing

This new Dulce de Leche manufacturing plant has a three-story building and a total area of 4,600 square meters. And it has a production of 15,000 kg / hour.

With the TEC team we take care of the entire electrical work, including engineering, power supply and lighting. It was our task, in addition, the complete automation of processes and equipment.

Electrical Work

The electrical work includes the supply of said plant from the existing transformer, supply and command of the driving force, made up of more than one hundred motors, construction of a Motor Control Center (CCM) and room lighting.

The plant has an installed power of 1,200 kW, most of which is represented by the motors that are the driving force of the manufacturing process.

As a first measure, the link between the existing 1600 kVA transformer and the General Low Voltage Panel (TGBT) was strengthened to be able to conduct all the power required by the new plant.

A switch with a nominal current of 2000 A and a breaking capacity of 66 kA Siemens model 3WL was installed in the TGBT. The electrical link to the new installation was made with 4 300mm cables2 por fase mas 2 para el neutro.

In addition, the 600 kVAr power factor correction system was connected to the existing bus system in the TGBT.

Engine control Center

In order to house the power supply and control of each of the plant's electrical loads, a motor control center was designed and manufactured. It is divided into two parts. One part (CCM1) made up of 8 modular cabinets and the other (CCM2) made up of 4 cabinets.

In the CCM, 56 frequency variators were installed, 3 soft starts, 45 direct starts and 20 feeders for sectional panels and machines. Some of the machines fed are: the CIP central, 12 packaging machines, CEPI powder equipment, bag breaker, intelligent warehouse, ventilation system and homogenizer, among others.

Automation

The automation was made with a PLC marca Siemens of the S7-1500 line and 12 remote nodes with Siemens ET200 distributed periphery, connected by an ethernet ring network.

In addition, in parallel to the above, a ring ethernet network was made consisting of 5 operating panels plus the panels corresponding to the CIP and powder mixing systems.

The connection and start-up of the following equipment for the manufacture of dulce de leche was carried out:

  • 4 vertical storage silos.
  • 2 insulated tanks for grease storage.
  • 2 isolated tanks to store glucose.
  • 10 mixer tanks.
  • 24 pans that make dulce de leche.
  • 14 coolers for dulce de leche.

Level, temperature and pressure measurements are taken in each of the above tanks as appropriate. Added to the approximately 580 valves and 100 motors, there are approximately 1600 input signals and 850 output signals. Of these, approximately 400 inputs/outputs are analog.
