Paletizado de baldes de pintura – Robótica ABB

Palletizing paint buckets – ABB Robotics

Details

The project consisted of 2 palletizing cells, one of which is a 1+1 system (1 input 1 output). The input has a cadence (speed) of 10 buckets/minute. There are 10 different models of buckets, of which 4 are 10-liter plastic buckets, 5 are 20-liter plastic buckets, and 1 is for 24-liter metal buckets.

The output pallet, for 10-liter buckets, is 4 buckets x 4 buckets (length x width), with a height of 4 buckets. And for 20 liters and 24 liters, it is 3×4 with a height of 3 buckets.

The robot has a gripper mounted, which has the possibility of changing plates depending on which buckets are going to be produced. There are 3 types of plates, 1 plate for each bucket, these are divided according to the liters of the bucket (10, 20 and 24). When the operator starts the system, the robot receives which product was selected and checks if it can carry out palletizing with the mounted plate. If it is correct, it starts palletizing immediately. If it is not the correct one, it performs the change of plates, looking for the one that corresponds, then start with the palletized.

The other cell is a 2+1 system (2 input 1 output). Each entry has a cadence of 10 buckets/minute. Both inputs have the same product, achieving a rate of 20 buckets/minute.

To improve the assembly of the pallet, a test of the height of the pallet is carried out, dynamically changing the position to leave on the pallet. This is done every time an empty pallet enters.
